We know pants are your biggest challenge. We understand how unnerving it can be when the waistband of your pant is just too large and the best your tailor can do is take it in at the back, creating an unseemly “v” shape. When it comes to pants for pear shaped women, it is also important that the garment's back rise is long enough to ensure the waistband does not drop too low on your body when you sit.

At Moi-Même, we recommend high-rise pants for curvier women so the waistband will sit a bit higher on your body, where you are less curvy. We especially recommend our newest styles – Jakarta and Taipei – both of which were designed specially with your body type in mind. The Jakarta pant waistband features extra seams that make it easy to alter while the Taipei pant for pear shaped women skips the waistband altogether, making for a visually elongated leg line.

As with pants, the pear shaped woman faces two challenges with skirts: a “pulling” of the fabric at the hips or thighs and a waistband that is too large and often sits too low. To enhance the fit of our skirts for pear shaped women, we add extra darts to create better shaping.

When it comes to skirts for pear shaped women, we recommend all of our A-line and “lowercase” A-line styles. The classic A-line silhouette drapes effortlessly over your hips while our “lowercase” A-line skirts fall straight from the low hip, visually slimming the hips and thighs.
