Styles

How often do your styles change?
We produce new styles for the Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer collections, but we retain the most popular styles from past collections in our portfolio. View our most recent additions to the collection.

What can I expect to see in the next collection?

May I supply my own fashion designs?
No, we design our own styles and create our own patterns to ensure we can offer a consistent fit and quality construction.

Can I purchase in separates?
Many customers choose to order separates - pants, in particular - for business-casual workplaces. If you plan to order a matching garment at a later date, however, please be aware that our fabric options are prone to change and the fabric or color you ordered last month may not be available next month.

Where can I learn about the specific details of a Moi-Même garment?
Our website provides copious amounts of information about the tailoring details of our garments on each catalog page, see: jackets, pants, skirts, dresses or shirts.

Where will the pants sit on my waist?
Some of our pant styles are mid-rise, others are high-rise. We indicate on each style whether it is mid- or high-rise.

 

Sizing/Personal Fit/Measurements

What is Personal Fit?
Your Personal Fit is the combination of your size, shape and height. Moi-Même’s Personal Fit is a more comprehensive way to communicate sizing because it takes into account the curviness of your body.

Do you offer Petite sizes?
Yes, we offer petite sizes. We also recommend specific styles for petites.

Can you accommodate very petite women?
Yes! When you design a Moi-Même garment you will have the opportunity to select from standard hem and sleeve lengths or input your own custom length. Please note that we do not, however, offer a custom length option for the pant rise or jacket and shirt lengths; for these measurements we offer our standard Petite lengths.

Do you offer Tall sizes?
Yes, we offer tall sizes. We also recommend specific styles for tall women.

Can you accommodate very tall women?
Yes! When you design a Moi-Même garment you will have the opportunity to select from standard hem and sleeve lengths or input your own custom length. Please note that we do not, however, offer a custom length option for the pant rise or jacket and shirt lengths; for these measurements we offer our standard Tall lengths.

Do you offer shapes for full-chested women?
Yes, we offer Personal Fit sizes that fit full chests. We also recommend specific styles for full-chested women.

Do you offer shapes for pear-shaped women?
Yes, we offer Personal Fit sizes that fit pear-shaped bodies - those are larger through the hips and/or thigh. We also recommend specific styles for pear-shaped women .

Do you offer Plus sizes?
We are not able to accommodate Plus sizes at this time, but we are pleased to report that we will be adding Plus sizes very soon. To be amongst the first to learn when we add Plus sizes, please join our mailing list.

What if my size does not match any of the options?
Though we offer an expanded range of sizes, we are not able to accommodate all body shapes and sizes. If your measurements are not accommodated in our current sizing system, we would love to hear about it so we can continue to meet the needs of more women. Please contact us to let us know your specific measurements. If you are Plus size, please note that we will be adding Plus sizes very soon. Do I need to have my measurements taken?
To find your Personal Fit, you will need to know your height, bust, waist and low hip measurements. Many women already know these measurements; if you already know these measurements then no, you do not need to have your measurements taken.

How can I have my measurements taken?
We have prepared a guide for taking measurements in inches and centimeters that we ask you to use – even if a trained tailor takes the measurements for you.

Can I take my own measurements?
No; to improve accuracy, we ask that you have a friend, family member or local tailor take your measurements.

Do I need to know my measurements in centimeters or inches?
Either! When the U.S. flag is selected in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, we accept inches. When the Canadian flag is selected, we accept centimeters. As you input your Personal Fit information, toggle between flags to change the units to centimeters or inches.

Can I return my garment(s) if my Personal Fit turns out to be incorrect?
Because your garments are custom made to meet your personal specifications, like most custom clothiers, we cannot accept returns. And yet, we want to make sure you can feel confident that you won’t be stuck with clothing you will never wear. So, we offer easy-to-alter construction and the opportunity to sell your garments to someone else and design yourself something new. Learn more about Ordering with Confidence.

Will Moi-Même remember my measurements the next time I visit the website?
If you have an account with us, we will keep a record of your Personal Fit profile.

What if my measurements change?
If your measurements have changed, simply adjust them the next time you place an order.

 

Fabrics

How often do your fabrics change?
We offer a new fabric and color portfolio twice each year - when we launch new collections - and we often update fabrics mid-season. Specific fabrics or colors may become unavailable so we recommend purchasing all the items you would like in a single fabric all at once, as we cannot guarantee that the fabric you prefer will be available later. Will the fabric I select look exactly like what I see on my computer screen?
All computer screens represent color slightly differently. For that reason, we cannot guarantee that the color of your garments will match exactly what you see on your screen. We have provided multiple views of each fabric as well as descriptions to help guide your decision-making.

What if I want more garments made in a fabric I selected for a past order?
If we still have the fabric you previously ordered in stock, you may always order more garments in that fabric. Unfortunately, specific fabrics or colors may become unavailable so we recommend purchasing all the items you would like in a single fabric all at once, as we cannot guarantee that the fabric you prefer will be available later.

What's the difference between a black fabric in the Tissu, Luxe and Premier lines?
Generally speaking, the fabrics in our Luxe and Premier line feature a higher cashmere content and/or finer woolen yarn. Our Premier fabrics are our most fine.

Are your fabrics wearable year round?
Yes, all our fabrics are all-season fabrics. In fact, our Bemberg lining fabric actually helps to keep you cooler in warm temperatures.

Can you send me fabric swatches?
Yes, you may request that a swatch sheet be sent to you. Please contact us to make your request. Tell us the fabric lines (Tissu, Luxe and/or Premier) and color families (black, grey, navy, ivory/sand, brown/khaki and/or stripe) in which you are interested and include your mailing address.

May I send you my own fabrics?
No, we can only use our own fabrics.

 

Ordering

Must I order online, or may I order in a store?
Our garments are now available only from the Moi-Même website.

Can I make changes to my order after it has been placed?
If your order has not yet begun tailoring, we can still make changes to it. Contact us to request changes. If there is still time to process a change, we will reach out to you to request more information about the change you would like. It will take 48 hours to confirm whether a change can be made.

Can I cancel my order after it has been placed?
If your order has not yet begun tailoring, we can still cancel it. Contact us to request cancellation. If the order can still be canceled we will automatically reimburse your credit card for the canceled amount. It will take 48 hours to confirm whether a cancellation can be made.

 

Gift Cards

Can I purchase gift cards online?
Yes, you may purchase gift cards through our website.

How are gift cards delivered?
You may elect to have your gift card delivered by mail or by e-mail.

How may gift cards be used?
Each gift card has a gift code. Gift codes may be entered during checkout and the remaining value of the gift will be deducted from your order. Learn more about redeeming gift cards.

Does the use of a gift card disqualify my order for free shipping?
No; provided your order is for $500 or more, you will receive free shipping regardless of whether you pay with a gift code.

For how long are gift cards valid?
The expiration date should be indicated with each gift card.

 

Payment

Do I pay when I order, or when I receive my garments?
You pay for your garments at the time of order. You will be charged the total due for your garments during the checkout phase.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa and debit cards with one of the aforementioned logos. We also accept PayPal.

Where can I find a receipt for my order?
Your receipt will have been e-mailed to you after your order was placed. If you did not receive your receipt, please check your Spam folder. If you still cannot find your receipt, contact us.

 

Taxes and Duties

Do you charge U.S. sales taxes?
We charge sales tax on orders delivered to addresses in Michigan and New York state only. Customers receiving deliveries outside these states are responsible for paying any sales or use taxes or Customs duties that may be required by your government.

Do you charge Canadian taxes (VAT/GST/PST/HST)?
Any applicable VAT taxes will be charged by Canada Customs, not by Moi-Même.

What is the expected cost of Canada Customs duties and taxes (VAT/GST/PST/HST) on my order?
Approximately 15% of the order price. This is only an estimate. Additional brokerage charges may be assessed by the shipping company. We have selected shipping options that, in our experience, have resulted in lower overall fees for our Canadian customers.

 

Delivery/Shipping

When will I receive my garments?
Your garments will ship approximately four (4) weeks from the date your order was placed. Sale items ship within one week. We will contact you when your order is ready to ship. Moi-Même does not make any guarantees that your order will ship within four weeks and does not offer any refunds or other compensation on orders that take longer than four weeks.

Can you deliver to a U.S. P.O. Box?
Yes; we use USPS when delivering orders to P.O. boxes.

Do you charge for shipping?
We offer free shipping on all orders greater than $500, before taxes. Shipping costs will be added during the checkout process. Customers outside the U.S. will be responsible for any and all applicable Customs duties and taxes.

How long will it take for my shipped order to arrive?
The following transit times are estimates provided by the shipping companies. Your actual transit time may vary depending on geographical location, weather, Customs clearance, etc. Moi-Même does not guarantee any transit times or offer any refunds or other compensation on orders that take longer to deliver than the estimates provided here.

Can I select a faster shipping service?
Yes; you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade to a faster shipping service, for an additional charge, shortly before your order ships.

We ship to customers in the U.S. and Canada. Customers outside the U.S. will be responsible for any and all applicable Customs duties and taxes.

Yes, orders that include a jacket will come with a garment bag.

 

Alterations

Will my garments require alterations?
As with any ready-to-wear garment, you may find that alterations will improve the fit of your garment. Moi-Même does not perform alterations nor does Moi-Même make any sort of reimbursements to cover the cost of any alterations.

Returns Policy

What is your returns policy?

No, Moi-Même does not guarantee any transit times or offer any refunds or other compensation on orders that take longer to deliver than the estimates provided. Transit times are estimates provided by the shipping companies and your actual transit time may vary depending on geographical location, weather, Customs clearance, etc.

Do you offer refunds?

Resales and Sale Items

Do your made-to-order garments ever go on sale?
No. While we may run promotions from time-to-time (e.g free shipping), our garments do not go on sale because they are made one at a time to fulfill a specific, custom order.

What are Sale items?
As a courtesy to our customers, we help them resell unworn, unlaundered and unaltered garments that they no longer want. We do this because we understand that sometimes a customer will receive a garment and realize it is just not what she had in mind when she designed it. The customer reselling the garment chooses the price for these items.

Can I negotiate the price on Sale items?
No. The price is set by our customer and we cannot reach out to her to negotiate. We also cannot give out her name or contact information, to respect her privacy.

How do I buy a Sale item?
You can see all the Sale items on our Sale page. These items may be added to your shopping bag and purchased just as you would a made-to-order item. Any applicable shipping charges and taxes will be added during checkout.

When will I receive my Sale item?
Sale garments are shipped directly from Moi-Même within one week of order. Shipping rates and processes are otherwise the same as for made-to-order items. Before you order is shipped, you will be given the opportunity to expedite delivery, at an increased price.

Can you adjust or alter a Sale item?
We cannot make any adjustments or alterations to Sale garments. All Sale items are offered as-is.

May I return Sale items for refund?
Yes! Unlike with our made-to-order garments, you may return an unworn, unlaundered and unaltered Sale garment for refund. You will be responsible for return shipping charges. A $30 re-stocking fee will be deducted from your refund. Shipping charges are not refunded. To request a return, please process a Return Merchandise Authorization within 14 days of receipt.

The Sale item is a suit. May I purchase it as separates?
The customer who is reselling the item determines whether she prefers it to be sold as a suit or in separates. We cannot reach out to her to ask whether she would be willing to change her mind. We also cannot give out her name or contact information, to respect her privacy.

Design and Tailoring

Who is your designer?
Our garments are designed by a team at Moi-Même that is comprised of professionals with experience in garment design, construction and manufacturing as well as experience working with professional women. We aim to be very customer-focused – designing styles that are both attractive to, and appropriate for, professional women. In the end, of course, your Moi-Même custom garment will really be designed by you!

Who are your tailors?
Each Moi-Même garment is crafted by skilled tailors in Vietnam, under the guidance of a husband-and-wife team – both of whom are second-generation master tailors themselves. Our partners were personally selected by the company’s founder, Dawn Verbrigghe, for their ability to combine classic tailoring technique with contemporary technology and exceptional management – allowing us to efficiently construct garments that have a special, personal touch. We have been working closely together for more than four years.
